SkyTeam NewsFlash - November 2004

SkyTeam, the global airline alliance partnering Aeromxico, Air France, Alitalia, Continental, CSA Czech Airlines, Delta Air Lines, KLM, Korean Air and Northwest, sets itself apart by offering an exclusive experience for all passengers. SkyTeam NewsFlash issued monthly, enables the alliance to keep key media fully up-to-date with its most recent developments. Please read on for this month's update of SkyTeam activities.

Governing Board Plans for 2005 - The SkyTeam Governing Board, comprised of the senior-most executives at the nine member airlines, met in Tucson, Arizona on November 4 to set the alliance's direction for 2005 and beyond. The meeting marked the first official opportunity for the Governing Board to discuss alliance business since Continental, KLM and Northwest joined SkyTeam in September. To further strengthen the alliance's strategic position, the executives focused on ways to enhance the working relationship of members, including SkyTeam's governance model and joining requirements, as well as opportunities for additional synergies. Details regarding the status and implementation of these initiatives will be announced soon.

Latin American Connection - Leading the way to 11 Latin American destinations is the European duo of Air France and KLM Royal Dutch Airlines. As a result of the merger, passengers traveling with Air France and KLM will experience an increase in flights and frequencies to Latin America. These two SkyTeam airlines now offer 180 weekly flights with a capacity of 44,000 seats per week to destinations such as Caracas, Sao Paulo, Lima and Rio. Passengers traveling to Latin America from Europe will be able to make easy and convenient connections via SkyTeam's key hub airports, including Paris Charles de Gaulle, Amsterdam Schiphol, Atlanta Hartsfield-Jackson and Houston George Bush Intercontinental.

Those traveling to Rio will see additional amenities as Air France launches its on-board private lounge for first class, business and "Elite Plus" travelers. In addition, SkyTeam will continue to increase flight options for its passengers, with further expansion to areas in Latin America while providing business travellers with all the amenities of the office.

Non-stop Flight With Long Haul Comfort - Launching 1 December Air France will operate three additional weekly non-stop flights from Paris to Riyadh, Saudi Arabia. This offering is a part of the carriers' Dedicate program, a service accommodating corporate passengers working in the fields of energy and capital goods. Saudi Arabia is the world's leading oil-producing country. The Dedicate program was first introduced to corporate travelers in January 2004 and has since extended its reach to include: Malabo, Pointe Noire, Doha, Kuwait, Tashkent and now Riyadh. Dedicate was designed for corporate customers, but is accessible to all Air France and SkyTeam passengers. All travellers will receive SkyTeam Frequent Flyer miles when travelling to Riyadh, in addition to Air France's entire range of passenger benefits.
