Detroit River Days
Detroit's river buzzes with life during the annual River Days festival. Jet-skis, tall ships and boat tours fill the stretch of water between Renaissance Center and Milliken State Park. On dry land, food stalls and family activities line the riverbanks.

Target Fireworks
For over half a century Detroit has been lit up by the Target Fireworks in June. Launching from the Detroit River, the firework display is one of the largest in the world with over 10,000 seperate explosives lighting up the night sky.

Vans Warped Tour
The music and extreme sports behemoth that is the Vans Warped Tour rolls into Comerica Park, Detroit. The festival presents leading punk and hardcore bands on ten stages, extreme sports demos, a Guitar Hero 2 Tent, Lucha Libre wrestling and more.

Arab & Chaldean World Festival
This annual festival at Hart Plaza is the largest Arab-Chaldean-American cultural event in North America. Each year more than 100,000 people enjoy a variety of Arabic and Chaldean food, exhibitions and an impressive entertainment programme.

African World Festival
This three-day celebration of African culture at Detroit's Hart Plaza features music, live entertainment, children's activities, an artisans' market and a wide variety of ethnic cuisine. Some 1.2 million people attend, so expect some crowds.

Detroit International Jazz Festival
Detroit International Jazz Festival is held annually at the Hart Plaza. Performances take place across six stages with further attractions including a Jazz Talk Tent and the Kid Bop Area.

Dally in the Alley
Dally in the Alley is a lively street fair in the North Cass district of Detroit. Stalls are set up for local artists and restaurants to sell their creations. There are also open-air stages with live music and kids' entertainment.

Detroit Tigers - Major League Baseball
Comerica Park is home to the Detroit Tigers Major League Baseball team and stages regular games from April to September. The Tigers compete in the tough American League Central, which includes the Minnesota Twins.

Detroit Restaurant Week
Seventeen of Detroit's finest restaurants participate in the biannual Detroit Restaurant Week. Booke early for the opportunity to eat a spectacular three course meal for under US$30 (exclusive of drinks, tax and gratuity).

Detroit Free Press/Flagstar Marathon
The Detroit Free Press/Flagstar Marathon hits US and Canadian soil once again. The race course for the 26.2 mile event incorporates both the Ambassador Bridge and the Detroit-Windsor Tunnel, allowing participants to cross borders and run an underwater mile.

America's Thanksgiving Parade®
America's Thanksgiving Parade® first marched down Detroit's Woodward Avenue in 1924. With the exception of a war-time break, it has attracted huge crowds every year since. Expect amazing floats, live entertainment and supporting events including the Hob Nobble Gobble®.

Annual Noel Night
More than 20 cultural institutions in downtown Detroit open their doors to the public for free at the Annual Noel Night. The event includes everything from horse-drawn carriage rides to performances by local music and dance groups.

The North American International Auto Show fills the Cobo Conference and Exhibition Center in Michigan. The two-week event also welcomes manufacturers from all over the world, who come together to show their latest designs and innovations.

Winter Blast

The Detroit Boat Show
The Detroit Boat Show at the Cobo Conference and Exhibition Center features over 1000 new boats, along with motors, trailers and accessories. There are also fishing seminars, a Boating Kids Clinic, boating seminars, cooking and casting demos and more.
