Initiative Highlight: Environmental Stewardship at Delta Air Lines

Delta, its Northwest subsidiary, and Delta Connection carriers offer service to more than 360 destinations worldwide in 64 countries and serve more than 170 million passengers each year with hubs in Amsterdam, Atlanta, Cincinnati, Detroit, Memphis, Minneapolis-St. Paul, New York-JFK, Paris Charles de Gaulle, Salt Lake City and Tokyo-Narita. 

Delta has increased aircraft fuel efficiency 35% since 2000 through improvements in technology, operating procedures and maintenance.  We have established a comprehensive environmental stewardship program that conserves resources, supports alternative fuels research, and engages our employees and customers through initiatives such as carbon offsetting and recycling.  As the world’s largest airline, we continue to work aggressively to reduce emissions and become even better environmental stewards.
