The Mandarin's Three Dreams is ING Cultural Centre's blockbuster autumn exhibition. Run in parallel to the Europalia Festival of which China is the guest of honour, the event examines Mandarin culture through a series of objects, from books to porcelain.
The exhibition is divided into two parts: the first is based around the period of the conquest of Ming China by the Manchus in the 17th century; the second does not revolve around a set period but rather concentrates on a series of paintings. The latter evoke the dreams, aspirations or close ties to nature of the scholars.
