Shop

Offering all the amenities of a shopping mall, Gatwick Airport's retail space covers 37,000m². Purchase books and magazines at WH Smith, toiletries at Boots, gifts and souvenirs from Harrods, jewellery at Goldsmiths and accessories at Tie Rack. You can save up to 40% on perfume and 20% on wines and spirits by shopping duty free.

Personal shopping consultants dressed in green offer free advice on the latest special offers and gift ideas. If you're travelling within the EU, you can use the free shopping collection service. Shop before you fly and collect on your return from the shopping collection point in the arrivals hall.

Eat and Drink

Gatwick Airport has a good range of fast-food, café and dining options, both pre- and post-security. Both terminals have M&S Simply Food stores, family-friendly Wetherspoon pubs, Starbucks and Costa cafés, Garfunkel's restaurants and Caviar House seafood bars. Other food options include French Chez Gérard and Eat (North Terminal), and Italian Est Est Est and Caffè Nero (South).

Internet

High-speed wireless internet access (with T-Mobile, BT Openzone, Surf and Sip and The Cloud networks) is installed throughout Gatwick Airport. Recharge at a T-Mobile laptop station or BT Openzone powered chair in either terminal. If you're not travelling with your laptop, there are DSL Spectrum fixed terminals in both terminals. You can also log on in the South Terminal at the 24-hour Internet Exchange.

Business

Pre-book a business lounge in the Servisair Lounge (South Terminal) or Aviance Lounge - Alexandra Suite (North Terminal) and enjoy complimentary drinks and snacks, phone, fax and newspapers. Secretarial services and conference rooms seating up to 65 people can be arranged at the United Business Centre (0870 049 3100 from UK only) on the 7th floor of the South Terminal, open Monday to Friday, 8am to 6pm.

Family

Baby-care essentials can be purchased at Boots and there are baby-changing facilities throughout the airport. Garfunkel's restaurants have children's menus and complimentary activity packs, and McDonald's is in both terminals. The South Terminal's Gatwick Family Lounge, after security, can be pre-booked (0870 850 2825). Both terminals have unsupervised play areas and arcade games for older kids. For the best viewing area head to Pier 6 after security in the North Terminal to watch planes beneath the bridge.

Unwind

Take advantage of coin-operated massage chairs in the Departure Lounges of both terminals. In South Terminal's International Departure Lounge, Clarins Studio offers facials, massages and other beauty treatments for men and women, while in the North Terminal, Clinique offers complimentary makeovers.

Special Needs

Both terminals have elevator and ramp access, automatic doors, modified telephones and bathrooms, induction loops, free help points, reserved seating areas, electric buggies and special parking areas. Seeing-eye dogs are permitted, and a wheelchair-accompanying service is available. There is a 24-hour porter service to help with carrying bags. Travel-Care (+44 (0) 1293 504 283) in the Gatwick Village (South Terminal) will offer advice to people who may need extra help.
