Enjoy this busy street, traffic-free, for one day only. Visitors can dodge the bumper cars instead and whizz round on the carousels, ferris wheel and other fairground attractions. There's also plenty of entertainment for kids of all ages - storytelling, theatre, street entertainers and lots, lots more on Regent St and in the surrounding area, including the world famous Carnaby St and nearby Soho.
Many of the street's famous shops have special offers, demonstrations and refreshments, and there's al fresco dining at the restaurants and bars, with special menus, music, magicians and face painters on hand.
Regent Street and the similarly named Regent's Park is one of London's prettiest areas. The neoclassical architecture of the park terraces was designed from plans laid in 1811 by John Nash, Crown Architect and friend of the Prince Regent. The park itself boasts over 400 acres of public space which includes playgrounds, landscaped gardens, an incredible Rose Garden with more than 150 species of roses and of course, the indomitable London Zoo.
