The Geffrye Museum's beautifully decorated period rooms present Christmas Past, a festive programme including workshops, talks, storytelling and concerts, examining 400 years of Christmas traditions in English homes.
The authentic seasonal style of the decorations provides a magical glimpse into Christmases past, exploring the meanings and origins of centuries of seasonal traditions, from kissing under the mistletoe to decorating the tree.
Concurrent events such as decorations workshops, talks on the history of English traditions and a concert by candlelight are sure to create a warm festive spirit. Not to mention a mince pie and glass of mulled wine!
