Africa Day on Trafalgar Square is a free festival celebrating the culture of a colourful continent, with particular emphasis on the positive contributions that London's African communities have brought to the capital. Visitors can sample African cuisine and buy crafts. More
28 Sep 2008 (annual) St Mary le Bow
The second Harvest Festival of the Pearly Kings and Queens takes place at the church of St Mary Le Bow in Cheapside (there are two others). A parade precedes the event starting at Guildhall Yard with entertainment, marching bands, dancing, donkeys and carts, before moving to the church. Fruit and vegetables are given to the Whitechapel Mission for the Homeless. More

Queen and Ben Elton have collaborated to produce, at a cost of £7.5 million, We Will Rock You. It opened at London's Dominion Theatre in May 2002 and is still going strong, not only this original London production, but now in theatres in Sydney, Spain, Russia, Germany and Las Vegas. More
