Around 50,000 participants of all ages, physical abilities and origins take part in Stramilano, Milan's popular international half-marathon, first run in 1972.
Starting in Piazza Castello and ending at the Civic Arena, the 21km race is made up of three categories (Senior, Amateur and Master) and follows a circular route that rings the inner city.
Running alongside the race are the 12km "Stramilano 50,000", allowing athletes from all walks of life to run at their own pace, and "Stramilanina", a 6km run for children.
