The UN has named Toronto the world's most culturally diverse city. The
250-year-old city is also architecturally varied, with a mix of ultramodern and
Victorian styles. Home to the Bay Street stock exchange and all five of
Canada's biggest banks, it is an industrial center as well. On the northwest
shore of Lake Ontario, the city sprawls out from the downtown core, with many streets so
long and straight they'd make a Roman town planner weep with joy. Torontonians know how
to party, and they enjoy an excellent theater scene, vibrant neighborhoods, excellent
shopping and a number of world-class festivals. Their home is an increasingly popular
destination for business and leisure visitors alike.
