New Destination in the New Year At the start of this year, SkyTeam member Air France began service between Paris and Guangzhou, China. The newly-instituted service, offered five times weekly, will expand to daily service in mid-June. The route will establish Air France as the first European carrier to serve Guangzhou and Europe's first airline to serve four destinations in China. Customers will now have direct access to one of China's most promising business centers. Passengers have enjoyed Air France's commitment to servicing China since 1966, when the SkyTeam member became the first western airline to operate services to the People's Republic of China. Party of Nine, Please Recently, SkyTeam member Korean Air signed a contract to purchase nine B777-200ERs from Boeing. The B777-200ERs will provide more comfort to economy and business class passengers with an Audio Video On Demand (AVOD) system installed in all seats for entertainment. Passengers in business class will enjoy flat reclining backrests with even more comfort. The B777-200ER is capable of operating non-stop service to long-haul destinations, especially from Asia to the U.S. West Coast region, which will enhance the travel experience for customers.
