SkyTeam is working hard to make travel more seamless and integrated for customers connecting between carriers. A host of handy online pre-trip tools is helping travelers know what to bring on board, what documents they need and airport benefits for frequent flyers.

“With peak season travel underway, it’s reassuring for customers to have everything they need for their trip before they set off for the airport – from what to take onto the aircraft, to knowing they have the correct travel documents,” said Alesandro Fusaro, SkyTeam’s Customer Journey Manager. “As well as ensuring they have a valid passport, we encourage customers to use our online tools to avoid any unexpected surprises and make their journey smoother – even when airports are busier.”

Pack hack
SkyTeam’s handy Carry-on Calculator lets travelers check their hand baggage complies with airline rules before they arrive at the airport. Launched last year, customers simply enter their airlines and class of travel, and the Calculator compares the hand baggage allowances of every airline in their schedule.

Results are based on the most restrictive carry-on and personal item allowance for every flight, including bag dimensions and maximum weight. Customers can find SkyTeam’s Carry-on Calculator online at SkyTeam.com.

Seamless check-in
Now available across 95% of SkyTeam’s network, seamless check-in enables customers to check-in and get boarding passes for multi-carrier and code-share itineraries via their preferred airline’s digital channel. Customers flying with hand baggage only can head straight for security, avoiding check-in lines altogether.

Comply and fly
Another handy pre-trip preparation available on SkyTeam’s website is a visa and travel requirement checking tool. Powered by Sherpa, customers can find out what they need to meet entry requirements for every point of their journey – including transit airports. Customers can also apply for select visas via SkyTeam’s website.

Lounge around
Elite Plus, First and Business Class customers are welcome in SkyTeam’s network of 750+ global lounges when flying on an international SkyTeam-operated flight. Customers can check which lounge is available for their journey and the amenities on offer by using SkyTeam’s Lounge Finder tool.

SkyPriority services make navigating the airport a breeze for Elite Plus, First and Business Class customers at eight touchpoints from check-in and boarding to transfers and baggage collection.
