Social Media User Terms & Conditions 


SkyTeam’s social media channels are a place for community interaction and information sharing open to all online users.

By opening the pages up to comments, we hope to facilitate discussions amongst our fans. With this in mind and to make sure the exchanges are conducted under the most enjoyable conditions at all times, we have established certain moderation guidelines. By joining our channels, you accept these Terms & Conditions and officially agree to abide by them.

The comments and exchanges posted on the SkyTeam's social media channels are moderated after they are posted.

You have sole responsibility for the content you create and post on the SkyTeam's social media channels as well as its compliance to all applicable laws and regulations.

The administrators’ and moderators’ role is to monitor the quality of the exchanges. They will delete any and all contents that do not comply with the Terms & Conditions set forth herein as well as with the laws in effect as soon as they discover them. Any noncompliance with these Terms & Conditions by any of the contributors could lead to their exclusion from SkyTeam's social media channels.

The SkyTeam social media channel administrators and moderators have the right to delete or close any content, comment or subject that violates the present Terms & Conditions without sending you any prior notification or requesting authorisation.

The following is thus forbidden (non-exhaustive list): 

Advertisements of any kind (personal, promotional or sales oriented):

  • Messages mentioning (or promoting) any other brand than SkyTeam or SkyTeam member airlines;

  • Any kind of SPAM: repetitive posting or identical or similar messages;

  • Libellous, defamatory or offensive comments;

  • Messages containing contact information (in particular telephone numbers and postal or electronic addresses);

  • Illegal content (especially those which encourage racial hatred, violence, paedophilia, negationism, praise of war crimes, etc.;

  • Harassment or direct attacks amongst participants;

  • Discriminatory comments, particularly but not limited to: racism, homophobia, sexism, etc.;

  • Incitement to use illicit drugs;

  • Encouragement of unhealthy eating;

  • All direct or indirect propaganda regarding tobacco or alcoholic beverages;

  • Vulgar or filthy language, threats or obscenities;

  • Erotic or pornographic content;

  • Irrelevant or off-subject messages such as troll (low quality or highly repetitive content that could pollute the forum);

  • Any infringement of legitimate third party rights or interests (for example, personal privacy or intellectual property infringement, denigration of goods or brands, etc.);


Furthermore, in order to ensure the quality of the contributions, we ask that you:

  • Remain courteous at all times;

  • Avoid writing in SMS-type language;

  • Refrain from excessive use of capital letters and punctuation marks;

  • Always reference your sources, for example, when sharing specific information, quoting someone or referring to thoughts that are generally attributed to a certain individual or entity.


Notification of contentious content:
If you find any comments made by other users that appear to be illegal, disrespectful of the present Terms & Conditions or contrary to the smooth operation of any of the social media channels, please notify the moderators via a message presenting the reason for your concern.

The moderators will decide at their own discretion how to handle the matter.

Responsibility limits and guarantees:
The administrators and the moderators of the SkyTeam's social media channels will do their best to eliminate any content that does not comply with these moderation guidelines. However, it is impossible for them to control the content of all the messages.

All comments and content posted on SkyTeam's social media channels remain the sole responsibility of their authors, in other words the online users who post such content or comments in this dedicated space. SkyTeam cannot be held responsible in any way for any comments or content of which the company is not the actual author.

All those who contribute to SkyTeam's social media channels guarantee the protection of the latter should anyone attempt to file a law suit against SkyTeam based either directly or indirectly on his/her contributions. Contributors must cover all costs, whatever they may be, accrued as a result of a third party law suit against SkyTeam. These costs notably include attorney and related legal fees.

SkyTeam cannot guarantee the accuracy or the pertinence of the information posted on their pages. Such information should not be considered in any way as advice or a recommendation from SkyTeam. It is up to the users to verify the information found on SkyTeam's social media channels. Therefore, SkyTeam cannot be held responsible in any way or under any circumstances for the use of information or content found on SkyTeam's social media channels.

Changes to the Moderation Terms & Conditions made by SkyTeam:
SkyTeam reserves the right to change the terms, conditions and/or legal mentions of the moderation guidelines at any time and without prior warning. Users are therefore advised to regularly check the latest version of the official Terms & Conditions available on this page and/or SkyTeam's social media channels.

Data protection and freedom:
Within the framework of contests, games and promotions organized by SkyTeam or via a social media application, the data participants provide will be shared with SkyTeam, not with third party. Participants have the right to access, edit, correct or delete any data related to them (art. 34 of the French “Data Protection and Freedom” law dated 6 January 1978). Users can, at any time, request to have any information related to them removed from SkyTeam's social media channels by sending a message to the administrators and moderators of these social media pages.
