SkyTeam takes gold and silver at International Customer Experience Awards ICXA 2021
SkyTeam, the global airline alliance, has reopened the doors of its Dubai lounge today, 18 months after it was closed due to the COVID-19 pandemic.
All 19 SkyTeam member airlines have signed up to the International Air Transport Association’s (IATA) 25by2025 initiative, as the global airline alliance advocates for greater gender diversity in the industry.
SkyTeam’s Istanbul Lounge has been awarded a Safe Tourism Certificate by Turkey’s Tourism Promotion and Development Agency in recognition of the alliance’s multi-layered commitment to health safety in its lounges. The SkyTeam Lounge submitted a voluntary application to the program, which is compulsory for hotels of 30 or more rooms, and will undergo regular rigorous inspections in order to renew its certificate each month.
Today marks SkyTeam’s 21st anniversary, a significant milestone in the global airline alliance’s history since it was founded in New York City by Aeromexico, Air France, Delta Air Lines and Korean Air. The 19-member alliance is eyeing a future beyond COVID as an industry leader in seamless customer experience, powered by its proprietary innovative technology – the digital spine - to deliver a frictionless, safer customer experience.
To facilitate the safe restart of international travel and restore the value contributed by travel and tourism to the world’s economy, the three global airline alliances oneworld, SkyTeam and Star Alliance are calling on G7 governments, at their upcoming leadership summit on 11-13 June, to agree on a common set of travel and health standards to enable the safe reopening of borders.
SkyTeam, the global airline alliance, has boosted its SkyCare&Protect pledge with digital solutions and further health and safety measures to restore customer confidence in air travel. With rapidly changing regulations, the alliance’s member airlines are equipping customers with all the information they need – including the latest travel restrictions and how and where to book pre-travel COVID tests – so they comply before they fly.
SkyTeam, the global airline alliance, is facilitating customer access to COVID-19 tests with a new online directory of over 15,000 testing locations worldwide. The Testing Labs Locator, powered by TrustAssure, enables customers to find and book the COVID-19 test they need with a trusted health provider, including polymerase chain reaction (PCR) tests, in a matter of clicks.
