5 years of chilled Pacific vibes in SkyTeam’s Vancouver Lounge
It’s five years since SkyTeam opened our gorgeous glass-walled Lounge at Vancouver International Airport, offering a warm Canadian welcome to thousands of customers every month. If you’ve not had a chance to visit for yourself yet, here are our 5 Lounge highlights:
- Eat local
Nothing gets fresher than the West Coast salmon and cooked-to-order wonton noodle soup on the menu. Like in all SkyTeam lounges, we’re reducing food miles by working with local suppliers to source fresh, seasonal ingredients.
- Super sips
Vancouver is home to the highest number of breweries in Canada and you can sample a range of craft beers as you wait for your flight. We also offer a selection of delicious wines produced in the Pacific Northwest, with monthly tastings hosted by local vineyards to tempt your palette.
- Shop, then drop
Retail therapy followed by a pre-flight chill-out? Don’t mind if we do. Located at Gate 53, the lounge is close to many high-end luxury boutiques. It’s also the only SkyTeam Lounge with two separate wings to explore, so you can enjoy more spaces to work, unwind, refuel or just be.
- Soak up the views…
Canada is known for its stunning scenery, and you can enjoy the views until you board. The floor-to-ceiling windows don’t only offer breathtaking mountainscapes, they let in an abundance of natural light, helping us save energy. And if you want to get soaked, our showers offer all the amenities you need to freshen-up and get flight ready.
- Planet protecting
Making air travel more sustainable is a priority for SkyTeam and we’re proud that our Vancouver Lounge is a YVR Green Partner, working with Sea Island to reduce our environmental footprint. In 2020 the lounge was awarded a YVR Green Excellence Award for our eco contributions on Sea Island and our Lounge manager was a guest speaker at this year’s Vancouver Airport Authority’s Project Green YVR Annual Summit.
