September, 2000: Four carriers, already partners in the SkyTeam passenger airline alliance, join forces for the cargo market. Aeroméxico Cargo, Air France Cargo, Delta Air Logistics and Korean Air Cargo announce the creation of SkyTeam Cargo.
April, 2001: Czech Airlines Cargo joins the SkyTeam Cargo alliance.
August, 2001: Alitalia Cargo joins the SkyTeam Cargo alliance.
November, 2001: US Cargo Sales Joint Venture launched by Air France Cargo, Delta Air Logistics and Korean Air Cargo to offer customers the benefits of a combined sales force, centralized reservation and service center, comprehensive route network and common product line for US export shipments.
October, 2002: SkyTeam Cargo introduces new product and service initiatives: Equation, Cohesion, Variation and Dimension, designed to extend the Alliance's global range and provide customer-friendly product solutions.
August, 2003: Re-launch of skyteamcargo.com with enhanced tracking and retrieving, carrier schedules, a dynamic products section and easier access to key functions.
May, 2004: Air France and KLM merge, creating the largest airline company in the world at that time in terms of total operating revenues and passenger kilometers.
September, 2004: KLM Cargo joins the SkyTeam Cargo alliance.
May, 2005: Product innovation continues: SkyTeam Cargo develops Variation Pharma, the ideal solution for shipping pharmaceuticals and medicals.
September, 2005: Northwest Airlines Cargo joins the SkyTeam Cargo alliance.
April, 2008: Delta Air Lines acquires Northwest Airlines, creating the largest commercial airline in the world.
November, 2010: China Southern Cargo joins the SkyTeam Cargo alliance.
May, 2011: Aeroflot Cargo joins the Cargo SkyTeam Cargo alliance.
October, 2012: China Airlines Cargo joins the SkyTeam Cargo alliance.
June, 2013: China Cargo Airlines joins the SkyTeam Cargo alliance.
November, 2013: Aerolíneas Argentinas Cargo joins the SkyTeam Cargo alliance.
September, 2015: SkyTeam Cargo celebrates its 15th Anniversary.
March, 2018: SkyTeam Cargo product portfolio has undergone a rebrand. Four new pilar products Express, General, Specialized and Customized are being introduced.
January, 2019: China Southern Airlines decided to leave the SkyTeam alliance, resulting also in its withdrawal from SkyTeam Cargo.
April, 2019: Saudia Cargo joins the SkyTeam Cargo alliance as the twelfth member.
September, 2020: SkyTeam Cargo, the world’s leading global airline cargo alliance of 12 members, is celebrating 20 years since it was founded in Washington D.C. on September 28, 2000.
March, 2021: SkyTeam Cargo Launches V EXCELLENCE, a dedicated program to safely transport COVID-19 vaccines worldwide.
October, 2021: Alitalia stopped operating and SkyTeam Cargo welcomed its new member ITA Airways on October 15th, 2021.
