AMSTERDAM, 25 January 2024 – SkyTeam, the global airline alliance, has made organizing international meetings and events easier than ever for 2024 by adding newest SkyTeam member, Virgin Atlantic, more currency options and other key features. Global Meetings - designed for small as well as large-scale events - covers all the MICE travel hotspots throughout North and Latin America, the Caribbean, Europe, Greater China, Asia, Africa and the Middle East.

Global Meetings is available for events from only 50 attendees – the lowest of any similar product, with no upper limit - across a network of over 1,060 destinations. So far in 2024, top destinations for international events are Barcelona, Cancun, Buenos Aires, Las Vegas, Milan, Nairobi, Paris and Prague.

SkyTeam Global Meetings has been further improved for 2024 through new enhancements including:

  • Virgin Atlantic joining the program, offering greater access to top MICE destinations across North America, the Caribbean, Africa, the Middle East and Asia and convenient connections via London Heathrow.
  • NDC compatibility to deliver a better user experience and more choice for attendees booking global air travel at generous discounts of up to 15 percent.
  • New option to pay in EUR and GBP as well as USD.

Demand for Global Meetings soared by more than 75 percent in 2023 versus the previous year, with members flying more than 97,000 delegates to attend hundreds of events worldwide. As well as adding Virgin Atlantic to the program, through other improvements including NDC compatibility and more options to pay in currency of choice, we’re making the product more user friendly, supporting continued MICE recovery.”
