SkyTeam history 2009


In October, all SkyTeam carriers serving London Heathrow operate at Terminal 4 in the brand new SkyTeam terminal showcase including a dedicated SkyTeam branded premium check-in area.

On June 4, SkyTeam opens its first ever co-branded SkyTeam lounge in Terminal 4 at London’s Heathrow Airport. The two-level lounge occupies more than 1,600 square meters and offers space for more than 300 passengers. The SkyTeam lounge offers customers a place to work, relax, dine or catch up on reading. Complimentary Wi-Fi Internet access is available throughout the facility and customers can take advantage of dedicated business areas. The premium lounge was designed to offer customers a superior experience that meets their individual needs.

In April, the debut of the first plane with the new SkyTeam alliance livery operated by a Delta Air Lines 767-400 between Atlanta and Milan. The alliance releases the news in conjunction with a press briefing in Milan by the SkyTeam Steering Committee following its quarterly meeting.

In January, the SkyTeam alliance starts 2009 with great momentum and is well positioned for the upcoming year. The alliance continues to build on its strengths and enhance its product offerings to meet and exceed customer expectations.
