In February, the first SkyPriority-branded fast-track security lane opened at Tokyo’s Narita International airport, offering SkyTeam’s premium customers a faster airport experience from check-in to boarding. Available exclusively to Elite Plus, First and Business Class customers flying from Terminal 1-North, it is one of a number of benefits available as a part of SkyTeam’s alliance-wide SkyPriority initiative: red carpet treatment for top customers. In addition to fast-track security clearance, eligible customers enjoy priority services such as: dedicated check-in desks; priority boarding and baggage collection; and priority at transfer and ticket desks.
In May, SkyTeam enhanced its Global Meetings product to offer more convenience when organizing international events by launching an online booking tool. The Global Meetings product facilitates organization of large-scale events worldwide. The new features include an online self-booking tool, enabling delegates to book discounted travel on any of SkyTeam’s 19 member airlines through a dedicated portal on SkyTeam.com, as well as increased discount levels.
In July, the second SkyTeam branded lounge opened at Istanbul’s Atatürk International Airport. The lounge is available to Elite Plus, First and Business Class customers flying from the airport on any of the alliance’s 10 airlines that serve Istanbul. The 350 square meter space seats up to 90 passengers and offers high-end hospitality with amenities including: a business center, complete with printing facilities and complimentary Wi-Fi; a relaxation zone with oxygen bar and massage chairs; a bar and buffet offering a selection of different cuisines; more than 70 electric power sockets for customer use; and a reading area. SkyTeam anticipates more than 70,000 visits to the lounge each year.
